#ANTI-ACTA

ACTA is something you will all become very aware of in the next few days its been around for years hence the video I’ve embedded is from 2010 and some I’ve watched are from 2009. Again another bill the government are trying to pass without giving people chance to give their view. It’ll be like when they passed the NDAA on new years eve this year in secret.

A breakdown of what ACTA will involve if you’d rather read this than view the video. Basically the government want to censor and control every piece of information that is shared online. For instance as the video says if you went to a cooking class and learnt a really great recipe, you then go home and tell your partner about the recipe, you can then be punished because you do not have the rights to share said information. You’d think in the safety of your own home that you’d be free and able to express some information well not because with this policy there will be surveillance monitoring you everywhere. What it means for the internet is that ISP will have to monitor every piece of information that gets uploaded, so if you upload an image to Flickr or Tumblr or use a piece of a song in a video, you will be punished. Theres a so called three strike policy which again will not be used fairly you will simply be accused three times and then punished. Said punishment is being banned from the internet for life and not only you but your family aswell.

This is yet again another act that our so called government are trying to pass. They must know that it cannot be passed. Do NOT let them change the freedom of expression and the internet as we know it today! #ANTI ACTA
